NewTek finally released the next iteration in their 3D software, LightWave 2018, and it is looking amazing. This wasn’t that much of a surprise since a good friend updated me on this weeks before. Well now that the whole world knows LightWave 2018 is here! Are you ready for this new update?

This means the old surface editor has been obliterated to make room for a fancy new PBR (Physically Based Rendering) based system. You maybe wondering what PBR means to us and I will dig deeper into this new technology for those interested. PBR is a deep topic and will require a lot of my time to explore. When working with new systems I have found it good to play around with it and see how much I can break it. This goes even for WordPress websites. Even though the original site was written in Joomla 1.5 way back in the early 2000’s I’ve decided to give this site a little upgrade and turn it into a blog site.
Yes blogs have a purpose and after really looking at the content of this site it felt more like a blog since I use it as a learning experience as I continue to learn Lightwave. I say continue because every time I open the program it is a learning experience.
For a while I will be converting my old tutorials to this site and adding them to my tutorial section. I will probably do a refresh on the tutorials so they are current and up to date with the latest version of Lightwave.
If you have any requests feel free to send them my way so they can make it on my radar.
